Being together does not always mean being present. Between messages, notifications, busy schedules and screens, we often put off something as simple as sharing a conversation, a meal or a few minutes of genuine attention.
That is why Miramar Shopping Centre is joining “Quédate un rato”, a campaign that encourages us to rediscover those small moments of connection with the people who matter to us.
The initiative is based on a simple idea: caring also means staying. Staying in a conversation, sharing a meal without phones, listening without rushing or simply giving someone close to us a few minutes of our full attention.
The campaign focuses on emotional wellbeing and young people’s mental health, approaching the subject from a positive, supportive and inclusive perspective, without blaming either young people or adults.
“Stay a While” suggests simple gestures that can help us step out of autopilot and pay more attention to the people around us.
Here are some of the campaign challenges:
Tonight, during dinner, put all phones in a box in another room. The first person to open it does the washing-up.
Stay a while with them!
Have your next coffee with that colleague you see every day but hardly ever speak to.
Stay a while.
This afternoon, take out a board game. The first person to look at their phone loses.
Stay a while.
Send a message to that friend you have been saying “we have to meet up” to for months and suggest a specific date.
Stay a while.
These challenges are part of the original campaign concept and aim to turn very simple gestures into opportunities to reconnect.
Miramar also wants to turn this invitation to share time into a plan to enjoy together.
You can enter the draw to win one of 3 Cinema + Dinner Planazos for €10.95.
To take part, open the Miramar app and tap “Like” on the “Stay a While” post.
A simple way to join a campaign that reminds us of something important: making real time for the people around us.
“Quédate un rato” was created to highlight the importance of being truly present and maintaining everyday connections.
Because supporting young people’s mental health is not only about having big conversations. Sometimes it starts with something much smaller: being available, putting your phone aside, sharing a meal, listening or simply waiting until the words come.
