Love story between Romeo, leader of the Montague’s and Juliet, daughter of the leader of the Capulet’s, warring factions in the 13th century Verona. In a world of intrigues, struggles and rivalries, Juliet fakes her death to escape with her beloved, but Romeo, unaware of the fact, commits suicide. When she wakes up, she ends up dying with him. • The acclaimed Joyce DiDonato playing Romeo and the long-awaited return of Patrizia Ciofi. • The production, with costumes by French designer Christian Lacroix, seeks to “reveal the hidden and fragile inside of the characters” (Boussard)
