A tournament that brings together sport and solidarity

Following the success of the 1st Miramar Handball Tournament, Miramar Shopping Centre and San Francisco de Asís Handball Club have officially presented a charitable donation of €804 to AFA Fuengirola-Mijas Costa, the Association of Families and People with Alzheimer’s.

Held on 5 June on Miramar’s terrace, the event brought together children, families and members of the San Francisco de Asís School community for a day where sport, togetherness and solidarity took centre stage.

The tournament marked the closing event of the school’s Handball Academy and gave participants the opportunity to enjoy an afternoon of sporting activities, matches and specially designed circuits.

€804 donated to a local cause

Thanks to the commitment of all participants and partner organisations, the final amount raised reached €804, which will be used entirely to support the work carried out by AFA Fuengirola-Mijas Costa.

The total donation was made possible through contributions from participating families, San Francisco de Asís Handball Club and Miramar Shopping Centre:

  • €204 donated by the club’s families.
  • €200 donated by San Francisco de Asís Handball Club.
  • €400 donated by Miramar Shopping Centre.

The cheque presentation was attended by representatives of AFA, San Francisco de Asís School and Miramar Shopping Centre.

Committed to the local community

This first edition was created to offer children a different sporting experience while promoting values such as teamwork, effort and participation, all while supporting an important charitable cause within the local community.

Through initiatives like this, Miramar strengthens its commitment to local associations and social projects, promoting actions that create a positive impact beyond commercial activity.

Miramar Shopping Centre would like to thank all the families, partner organisations and attendees who made this charitable initiative possible. Thanks to their support, sport has once again proven to be a powerful tool for bringing people together and helping those who need it most.
