In this fantasy-filled opera, we find three huge “dragon-dogs” 27-metre flamethrowers; a record beating dress of the Queen of the Night; three mythical creatures for the three dames operated by dolls; and dozens of artists running around the stage.
Hence, with this representation of The Magic Flute, David Pountney offers us one of the highest caliber productions at the Festival of Bregenz, while giving us new answers to the eternal questions that The Magic Flute has always postured.
